With cold/flu season rapidly approaching, schools, colleges, and other organizations are taking precautions and preparing in advance for flu outbreaks.
Athletic departments, as well as teachers, professors, and other school officials, should continue to reinforce the importance of hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick.
For areas where soap and water are not available, hand sanitizers are a recommended alternative. Some schools plan to use face masks for students who are suspected to have the flu virus. N95 masks are recommended by the CDC for caregivers like the school nurse.
If your school will be administering vaccinations, supplies like gloves, alcohol prep pads
and sharps disposal containers will be necessary. |
