Saucony -- Run for Good Program

The Saucony Run for Good Program has been created to encourage active and healthy lifestyles in children, fight obesity, and reverse the trend of shortening life spans. In addition to the physical benefits, running can also help children do better in school and manage stress.

Organizations whose participants are 18 years of age or less, have 501 (c)3 status and can demonstrate their program positively impacts the lives of participants through their increased participation in running are eligible. Programs which support youth not traditionally exposed to running programs will be given preference. Five grants of $10,000 or less will be awarded.

Nike -- Bowerman Track Renovation Program

The Bowerman Track Renovation Program provides matching cash grants to community-based, youth-oriented organizations that seek to refurbish or construct running tracks. Organizations applying for the grant must demonstrate a need for running-track refurbishment or construction. Grant recipients will provide track access to neighboring communities. Bowerman Track Renovation Program funds must be matched in some amount by other contributors by an agreed-upon deadline.

Oral Diseases and Disorders Research
Application Deadline: Jun 02, 2009

This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) solicits Oral Health Research Education (R25) grant applications from applicant organizations that propose to infuse an appreciation of science and the results of scientific research into the dental school curriculum and to develop a pipeline of students interested in pursuing a career in oral health research. The main emphases of this program are to strengthen the research component of dental education, to enhance the application of basic and clinical research findings to clinical training and to encourage both dental school and undergraduate students to pursue careers in oral health research. Projects funded through this grant should encourage students and faculty to participate in broadly defined scholarly activity and monitor the latest science, and provide undergraduate, dental and postgraduate students with an appreciation for oral health research so they may be more likely to pursue academic careers, advanced research degrees and research training. Through these grants, clinical, basic and behavioral science researchers will become an active part of the educational fabric and interact with students throughout all four years of dental school as well as during the postgraduate specialty training period.
