| Q: |
Do
the masks contain latex? |
| A: |
No, the masks do
not contain latex. The masks are made from poly vinyl chloride (PVC).
|
| Q: |
Is the Pocket Mask disposable? |
| A: |
If a pocket mask
is used to treat a patient, the one-way valve and the filter should
be discarded. The mask itself can be decontaminated according to the
directions for use. Replacement filters and one-way valves can be
purchased separately.

| Q: |
What
size particle will the filter block?
|
| A: |
The filter is actually
utilized as a moisture barrier. The filter is designed to resist the
flow of fluids from one side of the filter to the other. Laerdal does
not make any claims as to the efficacy of the filter as it relates
to blocking small airborne particles. Please note that the Laerdal
Pocket Mask can be used without the filter in place.

| Q: |
Can
a Pocket Mask be used on infants and children?
|
| A: |
Yes. For adult and
larger size children, the Pocket Mask can be positioned with the point
of the mask over the patients' nose. For infants and smaller size
children, the point of the mask can be positioned with the point directed
towards the patients' chest.
