Infant/Child Reduced Energy Electrodes reduce the energy dose that is delivered to the patient by a factor of four. For example, if the AED is set to deliver a dosage of 200J using adult defibrillation pads, the dose will be approximately 50J with the infant/child electrodes.

• Intended for use on children up to 8 years of age or 55 pounds.
• Biphasic LIFEPAK 500 AEDs with pink connectors (standard on devices built after August 9, 2002) and all LIFEPAK CR Plus AEDs are capable of using the Infant/Child Reduced Energy Electrodes.
• Biphasic LIFEPAK 500 AEDs that do not have pink connector plugs can be upgraded to accept the electrodes.
