Amerigel® Barrier Lotion is a dual dimethicone/silicone skin protectant and moisture barrier that shields the skin from excess moisture and skin irritants in addition to protecting vulnerable skin from shear damage in friction prone areas.

The combination of Oakin® (Oak extract), dimethicone and silicone in Amerigel® Barrier Lotion protects, moisturizes and prevents harmful bacteria from coming in contact with the skin. This unique advantage, along with the use of non-petroleum-based ingredients, makes Amerigel® Barrier Lotion easy to apply and remove, thereby saving patients� time and discomfort.

All of the ingredients in Amerigel® Barrier Lotion are safe and gentle enough to use from head-to-toe.

Some of the most common applications include:

Eczema and psoriasis - helps soften and reduce plaque deposits.
Contact dermatitis - minimizes exacerbations caused by latex allergy symptoms.
Crutch users � minimizes irritation and friction found in the axillary areas.
Prosthetic wearers � prevents irritations to the stump from repetitive movement or rubbing.
Adult incontinence � protects the skin without adversely affecting the absorptive ability of the adult brief.
Contractures � protects the skin from damage in moisture-prone areas, such as skin folds and creases.

Properties
The primary ingredient, Oakin® is readily absorbed into dry or damaged skin and provides the antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties. The Barrier Lotion does not penetrate through the layers of intact skin.

Indications Usage
Pressure and friction areas, skin folds, irritations from draining wounds and incontinent episodes.

Contraindications
Do not use if there is a known allergy or sensitivity to Oak or any other ingredient.

Precautions
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not use on children under 2 years of age without consulting a physician.

Dosage Administration
Apply a liberal amount gently to the affected area as needed. For best results, apply after bathing or washing.
