The McDavid® Cowboy Collar is an advanced neck roll system that incorporates a molded collar of resilient closed cell polyethylene foam and a padded vest into one product. When worn with regular shoulder pads, the Cowboy Collar helps absorb shock by engaging the sides and back of the helmet instead of the bottom of the helmet like traditional neck rolls. This reduces restriction and produces a cantilever effect rather than the fulcrum effect found with some neck rolls. The Cowboy Collar simply spring loads into the shoulder pad and is held in position with minimal movement during play.
